You Ask - I Answer

FAQ: FAQ

Are you currently accepting new clients?

I am currently on a waitlist for new clients, with appointments opening up about 3 to 6 months after being placed on my list. To be placed on my waitlist, please reach out to me via the "Contact" page or by email. Once I have available appointments, I will reach out to see if you would still like to schedule. I can also provide a list of therapists who may have sooner availability.

How long does each therapy session take?

The length of a session is tailored to your needs. Typically, therapy sessions are 55 minutes. If you are looking for longer or shorter sessions, we can discuss what this may look like!

Do you prescribe medications?

I am not a doctor and cannot prescribe medications or provide medical advice. I am trained as a medication assisted treatment specialist, meaning that I understand the role of medication in substance use recovery and am not opposed to individuals being on life medications, such as buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone. I can help clients find a psychiatrist or other medical professional to prescribe medications.

What are your hours?

I am not a great morning person and my appointments are generally between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and 10:00am to 1:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. I do not see clients on Sunday and Monday.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I am an in-network provider with Cigna, United Healthcare, Anthem, and Aetna. I am currently not able to accept Medicaid and Medicare plans.

If I am not in-network with your insurance provider, I can provide a superbill at the end of session. You can submit this to your insurance provider for reimbursement based on your plan.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

At this time, I do not offer sliding scale fees. I am able to adjust the length of a session to accommodate your financial needs and make referrals to other providers who offer sliding scale fees or accept insurance plans that I do not.

What are your COVID-19 policies?

I follow CDC and county regulations for managing the spread of COVID-19. I am fully vaccinated and request that individuals wanting in-person sessions also be fully vaccinated. I am happy to provide proof of vaccination and have this posted in my office.

If you are unvaccinated, telehealth sessions are available.

What's up with amethyst?

Amethyst is a quartz stone that has been associated with many positive benefits for centuries such as sobriety, inner peace, healing, positive change, stress relief, and spiritual connection. It is also really pretty! I do not offer crystal healing and honestly do not know very much about crystals other than that they look cool.

What about the hummingbird?

I am a huge fan of birds and hummingbirds hold a special meaning to me. They symbolize freedom, happiness, and overcoming adversity. And they are ridiculously cute.
